About the event

"Fascination: Brain!" is an online lecture series about neurobiology offered by the University of Luxembourg Omniversité, the Luxembourg Center for Systems Biomedecine, the DESCOM department and GoldenMe. The aim of these multilingual online lectures is to let scientists of the LCSB show and explain different topics - from the basic structure of DNA to diseases like parkisons while non-experts can learn, dive into the most fascinating topics of nuerobiology and connect to scientists and their research.

The lectures are multilingual, free of charge and designed for non-experts!

About the lecture:

How does life start? What is a “stem cell”, and how does a cell know its fate? In this presentation, we will take you on a brief journey to explore the origin, development and end of the unit of life: The Cell .

About the lecturer:

Michela Bernini studied Molecular Biology and Genetics at the University of Pavia, Italy. She is currently working as a PhD at LCSB: her focus of study is a specific mutation (PINK1) which is associated with Parkinson's disease.
